Hix Oyster Ale 500ml
Hix's own brew - Winner of 2 stars at the Great Taste Awards 2009. From a long-established family brewery, Palmers in Bridport, Dorset, pours a pleasing deep brown, almost black colour and throws a fine-bubbled, long-lasting thick head. Quite smooth, with hazelnuts, cocoa and caramel, the dark malty flavours display a hint of sweetness. Real emphasis on fruit and nuts, and yet not too heavy or cloying on the palate 5.5% - 4.95

St Peter's Old Style Porter 500ml
Stouts were originally called 'stout porters', drier and more roasted versions of the porters which sprang up in the 1720's to lubricate the market porters, who made London tick. Often aged for two years in massive oak vats, they were slightly vinous (sour) and sensuous with background chocolate flavours. Great with sensuous foods ? oysters, smoked salmon, mutton, venison, grilled fish and steak 5.1% - 4.50
Sharp's Chalky's 330ml
